Heartsong News—Miracles Continue
10/16/8

It’s been almost 6 months since we moved into Heartsong Healing Center in Holladay, and I haven’t had time to write a newsletter.  The miracles at Heartsong continue to happen on a daily basis.  A big, heartfelt thanks to those of you who’ve helped make Heartsong the huge success that it is. (You know who you are and you’ve all been part of the miracle.)
The seasons are changing and so are things at Heartsong.  The Watsu/Waterdance season has come to an end because the weather has turned chilly and we haven’t got a bubble for our pool (yet).  We do, however, have a newly refurbished Jacuzzi that our members and retreat guests are welcome to use.  I’m now shifting into teaching more and I’m beginning my Kundalini/Tantric Energy Awakening Class as soon as I get 10 committed students for the 10-week course.  I’m also teaching a Couple’s Elemental Massage Class as soon as I get 5 couples to join us—and after they graduate from that, they can move onto the Couple’s Tantric Massage Class  So if you are interested in any of the classes, please e-mail me when you’d like to start and what nights would be best for you.  I will try to accommodate the majority’s needs as much as possible.
We also have a new therapist and therapy which I’d like to introduce.
A miracle has brought Melisa Brady to our door (literally) to offer authentic Thai massage.  I met Melisa sixteen years ago when she was pregnant with her son, Keanu Forest.  Her dad, Vaughn, a dear friend of mine, asked me to help Melisa through a very traumatic pregnancy.  She was experiencing a miscarriage so I brewed her up some herbal tea to help stop it.  The doctors had done an ultrasound on the fetus and determined that it was so deformed—evidencing no legs and it’s lungs were on the outside—that they had determined it no chance of survival.  I told Melisa I didn’t believe in doctors or their prognosis and asked Vaughn to join me in giving Melisa a “father’s” blessing.  Vaughn was reluctant at first (as there had been a history of sexual abuse), but shortly thereafter, Melisa delivered Keanu Forest weighing slightly over 5 lbs.  He did have a slight imperfection—an umbilical hernia, which the doctors were able to repair—but other than that he was completely healthy and normal.  Today he is a handsome, healthy 16-year-old young man—thanks either to the herbal tea and prayer; or the fallibility of doctors.  As a result of our unexpected reunion, Melisa and her daughter, Dolphina, have moved in with us and Keanu is on his way to an alternative high school in Colorado.  Melisa has been doing massage for over 15 years and specializes in Thai massage which she’s been doing for over two years.  Please help support Melisa in her practice here at Heartsong.
A lot of you have asked for copies of my books and so I’ve been praying for an editor and photographer to help in completing my three books—Heartsong, Heart Wide Open, and Becoming One—the Journey Toward God.
Another miracle brought Alex Nibley (the son of Hugh Nibley) to our door early one morning at 7:00 for a Kundalini Yoga class.  Alex is miraculously both a professional photographer and editor and has agreed to help me edit and publish my books as soon as he finishes his other commissioned works.  We’ve had some very interesting, confidential conversations about his dad, the late, great Hugh Nibley who was the BYU Professor of Religion and noted apologist for the Mormon Church.  In defense of his father, Alex contends that most of the information concerning his father written in his sister, Martha Beck’s book, Leaving the Saints are “lies from top to bottom.”  Alex has already helped me with some editing on my two articles—Confessions of a Modern-day Tantrika and What’s Watsu?—which I’m planning to submit to the City Weekly or the Catalyst soon.  I will keep you updated on all of that and when my books will be available.
We’re also looking forward to starting our Sunday gatherings of The Church of the Gathering of What is Real starting with an “Unmasquarade Party” on Sunday, Oct. 26 in celebration of “Hallowed Eve” or Halloween.  We did this one year at our Higher Ground Healing Center in Draper and it was a great hit. We simply ask everyone to take off their masks and GET REAL!!  The celebration starts with Quantum Light Breath at 10:00 a.m. and then a pot-luck Brunch after that.  The Jacuzzi has been refurbished and is now in operation so those of you who’d like to “get naked and get real” are welcome to join us in the Hot Tub for an intimate “spirited” discussion.  Those who’d like to stay for the evening are welcome to begin the series of “I Can Do It” CDs—the first presenter to be Wayne Dyer on “Excuses Be Gone!”
The following are two of my favorite scriptures which help justify this outrageous behavior (for those of you who are feeling a bit shy).
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (St. John 8:32)
And from the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas:
His disciples said, “When will you appear to us and when shall we see you?”

Jesus said, “When you strip off your clothes without being ashamed and you take your clothes and put them under your feet like little children and trample them, then (you) will see the son of the living one and you will not be afraid.”

The truth is we are sons and daughters of a living God, or creatures of a Divine Creator whose inheritance is to experience ultimate love, peace, joy and bliss rather than hate, anger, pain and suffering.  Perhaps if enough of us “strip off our clothes without being ashamed and put them under our feet like little children and trample them” maybe we will “see the son of the living one and not be afraid.”  Hey, this may be symbolic but certainly more “real-able” than waiting for the aliens to arrive in the Mother Ship (with all due respect to the Blossom Goodchild followers).  Blessings and bliss to all—J. Bird (naked as a) aka Jesse.
